My Story

Growing up in a wonderful Christian home, I had the blessing of learning about the Lord from a very early age.
Both my parents are strong believers who seek to bring God glory in all they do and have brought my siblings and I up to know the Lord and to obey His Word.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour when I was about five years old.
To be completely honest, I can remember very little about that day.
From little I had been taught about Jesus and instructed in His ways, but I remember that it was then that I first placed my trust in Jesus and asked Him to be my Saviour.

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  ~ Romans 10:9

However, when I was about eleven years old, I came to the realisation that I wasn’t serving the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and it was at that time I prayed, fully surrendering my life to Christ, asking Him to guide me and use me to advance His Kingdom in whatever way He saw fit.

 How to Be Sure

Are you sure you are among the chosen few
Who enter glory when life on earth is through?
It is not enough to say "the sinner's prayer"
Or assent to the gospel when it is shared.

Your life will be changed and your heart made anew
If the Holy Spirit is indwelling you.
From each and every sin you will turn away
And seek to obey whate'er the Scriptures say.

Your motive t'wards others will be to show love,
Your affections will be set on things above,
Your supreme desire will be to do God's will,
And though you lose all for Him, you'll serve Him still.

While these changes cannot save you from your sin,
They provide assurance you've been born again.
If they are not manifested in your life,
Don't rest until you have saving faith in Christ.

From that day onward I purposed to spend more time with the Lord in prayer and in the reading of His Word and thus, began to truly grow in my faith and walk with the Lord!

Thou wilt shew me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”  ~ Psalm 16:11

As I sought Him more, He opened my eyes to certain areas of my life which were not being lived in accordance with Scripture.  By His grace and the Godly counsel of my mother, I was able to forsake the things which were ultimately weighing me down and keeping me from a right relationship with Christ and instead, fixed my eyes on Jesus!

Through the years the Lord has been working in my life and teaching me to lean “Not upon my own understanding but in all my ways to acknowledge Him.”  (Proverbs 3:5) He has clearly shown me that He will direct my paths and that I can place my trust in Him completely for He will never leave me nor forsake me.  My hunger for Him only grows as I seek Him more intently!

What a joy it is to serve a living God who has provided a way through the coming of His Son for us to spend not only an Eternity with Him in Heaven, but that we can know Him here on this earth and walk with Him daily.  All we need do is repent and turn from our sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!

“They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…”  ~ Acts 16:31
